FOOD SYSTEMS AND SEED HERITAGE

In this unit, students explore how food is grown, shared, and sustained across different communities. They examine examples of community gardening projects and other local initiatives that make it easier for people to grow, purchase, and enjoy healthy foods.

The unit also looks at how nutrition influences health and well-being, and how food traditions shape opportunities for individuals and families.

In addition, students are introduced to the importance of seed saving and the ongoing need to protect biodiversity through the preservation of traditional crops.
